By downloading, installing, or using SkinArc ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the App. SkinArc is operated by Keyao Zhu, an individual based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada — "we"/"us" below refers to Keyao Zhu.
SkinArc is a personal skin-tracking tool. It captures photos you take, computes objective measurements from them on your device, and shows you trends and statistical correlations over time.
SkinArc is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the App should be treated as a substitute for professional advice from a licensed dermatologist or other healthcare provider. The "attribution" feature shows a correlation between something you logged and a change in your own measured scores — it is an observation about your personal data, not a clinically validated causal claim. If you have a skin concern, see a doctor.
You can use core features as a guest, with data stored only on your device. Creating an account (email or Google/Apple sign-in) backs your data up to our servers and is required for VIP features. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You agree not to: use the App to photograph anyone without their consent; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the on-device scoring algorithm; use the App in any way that violates applicable law; or attempt to circumvent subscription/paywall restrictions.
Photos and data you create in the App remain yours. By using optional cloud sync or the VIP monthly-report/daily-tip features, you grant us (and, for those features only, Anthropic — see the Privacy Policy) the limited right to process that data solely to provide the feature you requested. We don't use your photos or scores to train any model, ours or a third party's.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SKIN MEASUREMENTS AND CORRELATIONS SHOWN IN THE APP ARE APPROXIMATE AND FOR PERSONAL TRACKING PURPOSES ONLY — SEE §2. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR US$100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. THESE LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO DAMAGES CAUSED BY OUR GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR TO THE EXTENT SUCH LIMITATIONS ARE NOT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms.
If we make a material change to these Terms, we'll show an in-app notice the next time you open SkinArc and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after that notice means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not override any consumer-protection rights you have under the mandatory law of the country or state where you live.
